Remove a background from a product photo

Separate the subject from its surroundings, then inspect the cutout before downloading. Choose a transparent PNG or a solid fill for the result. Your files never leave your device.

Products, mockups & general subjects

Best for product photos, apparel mockups, and non-portrait subjects. Default download is a transparent PNG. Need a solid white backdrop for a person photo? Use the white background helper (opens in a new tab, keeping your photo here).

What this page helps you do

Extract a subject as a transparent PNG for a product layout, mockup or graphic. Transparency lets you place the cutout on a new background without carrying the original rectangular scene into the design.

How to use the result

Use a source with clear subject boundaries, generate the cutout, then test the PNG against the background where it will actually appear. Keep the original so an imperfect edge can be corrected later.

Before you rely on it

  • Inspect fine hair, thin handles, holes and semi-transparent materials at full size.
  • Try both a light and a dark background to reveal unwanted fringes or missing pixels.

Limit to keep in mind: The model estimates what belongs to the subject. Reflections, glass, mesh and overlapping objects may require manual editing; the tool does not certify a cutout for official ID use.

Choose the workflow for your subject

This page uses the general-subject background-removal workflow for products and mockups. A portrait that needs a solid white backdrop has a separate people-focused helper.

A difficult source can leave rough edges or pieces of unwanted background. Inspect small gaps and the outline at full size rather than relying only on the reduced preview.

Choose transparency or a finished backdrop

Transparent PNG is the default when a cutout will be placed into another design. Select a solid fill when the result needs a flat background.

Changing a backdrop does not establish that an official photo meets its rules. Check whether the destination permits editing before changing a passport, visa or other application photo.

Let the local model load

The page needs its application and model files before the local cutout can run. A cleared cache can require those files to download again; this is separate from the image you select.

There is no account, fee or daily usage counter. Source-image limits, model availability and device memory still affect whether a job can finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save a transparent background?
Yes. Choose transparent PNG for a cutout that will be placed over another design, or use a solid fill for a flat backdrop.
Is this the best workflow for a portrait?
Use White Background Helper for the people-focused pipeline. This page is intended for products, mockups and other general subjects.
Why are background pieces left around the outline?
Some sources are difficult to separate. Inspect the edges and gaps at full size and use a clearer original if the cutout is not suitable.
Does the model receive my photo?
The model runs locally after its files load. Selected image contents are not uploaded for that processing.
Is there an account or daily-use requirement?
There is no fee, account or daily usage counter. Displayed source limits and the resources available on your device still apply.
