How to use the result
Inspect each thumbnail and rotate the affected pages in quarter turns. Mixed portrait and landscape pages can need different treatment, so review each changed page before exporting the document.
Before you rely on it
- Reopen the download and confirm the text is upright on every changed page.
- Check that diagrams, tables and landscape pages still have the intended orientation when printed or shared.
Limit to keep in mind: Quarter-turn rotation cannot straighten a slightly tilted scan or correct text inside an otherwise upright page. It also does not improve scan resolution or perform OCR.
Save a page change instead of a viewing preference
A reader can rotate its view without changing the file. That explains why a document may look correct in one session and reopen sideways later.
This tool writes the page rotation into the exported PDF. Open the downloaded copy, rather than the source or an old reader tab, when checking the result.
Handle mixed orientations selectively
A portrait report can include a landscape table or a sideways scanned attachment. Select only those pages that need a turn; rotating an entire mixed document can fix one section while making another harder to read.
Review the first page after each orientation change, especially where a scanner or source document changed between sections.
Know when a new scan is needed
Rotation changes orientation without re-encoding the page's text or images. It does not restore clipped edges, sharpen blurred text or replace missing scan detail.
If important information is incomplete or unreadable in the original, obtain a better source. Check the corrected download at a readable size before using it.

- Why did rotation in my PDF reader disappear?
- Some reader commands rotate only the current view. Export a file with the page rotation saved, then reopen that downloaded copy to check it.
- Can I turn just one page?
- Yes. Select the affected page before rotating. If nothing is selected, the rotate command applies to all pages in the workspace.
- Does the tool redraw pages as pictures?
- Rotation is saved as a page instruction, rather than by rasterizing the page. Existing text and image resolution are retained; inspect the exported document and any notices before sharing.
- Can rotation repair a poor scan?
- It can correct the direction of readable content. It cannot recover cropped, missing or blurred detail, so those problems need a better scan or source file.
- Do I need Acrobat or an account?
